As we celebrate the Let’s Entertain U 25th Birthday, we’re looking back on the journey that helped shape one of Cape Town’s favourite entertainment destinations.
A Journey More Than 25 Years in the Making
While Let’s Entertain U is celebrating 25 years, its roots stretch back much further. Owner Geraldo Paluzzi’s journey in the industry began in 1976 as an avid bowler. In 1981, he joined an established bowling company as a manager and later took ownership in 1990.
Over the years, he operated 11 bowling centres across South Africa before eventually focusing on the Cape Town venue guests know and love today.
Looking back, Geraldo reflects on how unexpectedly the journey unfolded:
“You don’t know anything about this industry. When you come out of school, you don’t know what opportunities there are out there. I think when you do what you love, things happen a lot easier.”
What started with a love for bowling eventually grew into a lifelong commitment to creating a space where people can connect, compete and have fun together. That philosophy continues to shape Let’s Entertain U today.
From Let’s Go Bowling to Let’s Entertain U
The entertainment industry has changed dramatically over the years, and Let’s Entertain U has evolved alongside it.
What many people know today as Let’s Entertain U began as Let’s Go Bowling, with tenpin bowling at the heart of the business.
“In the old days it was not Let’s Entertain U, it was Let’s Go Bowling. The whole focus was tenpin bowling. That was the only offering we had.”
As entertainment trends changed and families sought more interactive experiences, the venue expanded beyond bowling to offer a wider range of attractions and activities.
As Geraldo explains:
“People are looking for all forms of interactive entertainment. We create entertainment where people can do things together.”
That commitment to shared experiences remains at the heart of our business. Today, guests can enjoy everything from our popular bowling experience to a variety of exciting activities, all designed around one simple idea: bringing people together.
Entertainment for Everyone
One thing that has always set Let’s Entertain U apart is its ability to welcome guests of all ages. From young children enjoying Kidz Play to grandparents joining the family for a game of bowling, the venue has been designed to bring generations together under one roof.
As Geraldo explains:
“From the age of four or five years old you can play in the kids play area right till the age of 83 you can go bowling. Let’s Entertain U is for everybody. It doesn’t exclude anybody.”
That inclusive approach has made Let’s Entertain U a destination for family outings, celebrations, corporate functions, and countless memorable moments over the years.
Milestones, Challenges and Memorable Moments
After decades in the industry, Geraldo has experienced countless achievements, memorable moments and turning points. Yet when asked about the biggest milestones, he sees the journey a little differently.
“As far as the industry, everything is a milestone.”
From growing the business and adapting to changing customer expectations to expanding the entertainment offering and welcoming generations of guests, every stage of the journey has shaped Let’s Entertain U into what it is today.
Success didn’t come without challenges. One of the biggest has always been finding and developing the right people to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
“The industry depends on people that like to work with people. The biggest challenge is to always find the right people to provide the service that we would like to provide our customers.”
Beyond the day-to-day challenges of running a people-focused business, Let’s Entertain U has also navigated periods of significant uncertainty. The COVID-19 pandemic was one of the most difficult chapters in the company’s history, testing the resilience of both the business and its team.
One of Geraldo’s proudest achievements is how the team came together to rebuild the business.
“We managed to create a bit of a miracle here in Claremont. We couldn’t have done that on our own. We have a great team of people.”
Entertaining Generations
Perhaps nothing illustrates Let’s Entertain U’s impact more than the generations of families who keep coming back.
Guests who first walked through our doors as children now return with their own children, creating a decades-long cycle of memories.
“We’ve got people who come and bowl with their kids. They started bowling here as kids and now they’re bowling here as parents.”
We never take that kind of loyalty for granted. It reminds us that we’re not simply providing entertainment. We’re becoming part of family traditions, celebrations and memories that span generations.

From loyal guests and dedicated staff to suppliers, partners, and the wider community, their support has shaped the Let’s Entertain U story. Over the years, strong relationships and community support have helped build a loyal customer base, particularly in Claremont and the Southern Suburbs.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has been part of the journey.
Looking Ahead to the Future
While reaching 25 years is a significant achievement, we’re not focused on standing still.
For Geraldo, the future isn’t about becoming bigger. It’s about becoming better.
“No pipe dreams of bigger. I just want to be better at what we do.”
That commitment to continuous improvement will continue to shape the future of Let’s Entertain U as we invest in our facilities, experiences, team and guests.
When asked what he hopes Let’s Entertain U will be known for in another 25 years, his answer perfectly captures everything the business stands for:
“That we entertain generations. If we’ve entertained generations, we’ve done our jobs.”
